Securing a Data Center Campus: 4,600 Feet of Perimeter in One Package

    Active project: mobilized August 2026

A legacy industrial campus in the western United States is being converted into a hyperscale data center. Before a single server comes online, the site needs a hardened perimeter: security fencing, crash-rated vehicle entries, controlled pedestrian access, and the earthwork to support it all. The site team wanted one subcontractor to own the entire package on a schedule that could not slip. North Forge Contracting, a CREATE Industries company, holds that package.

    The Scope

    Perimeter fencing

Nearly nine tenths of a mile (about 4,600 linear feet) of 8 foot ornamental steel anti-climb fencing, set on a continuous concrete mow strip with posts embedded 36 inches in concrete.

    Crash-rated vehicle entries

Two automated sliding gates with card reader entry, exit sensing, and security intercom. Each entry is protected by a K4 crash-rated barrier: foundations, setting, anchoring, power, and startup for owner-supplied units. (A K4 rating stops a 15,000 pound truck moving at 30 mph.)

    Controlled pedestrian access

Four walk-through gates with fire department access boxes, plus a manual double gate for maintenance access.

    Site support scopes

Guard shack placement by crane with utility hookups, a site earthwork package, and selective demolition.

    How We Delivered It

General contracting with an engineering brain.

    Scoped tight

Every drawing reviewed, every gap flagged, and every open question resolved with the owner's engineers before procurement started.

    Bought smart

Specialist vendors competed for each package. Long-lead equipment (crash barriers run 10 to 12 weeks) was sequenced first, so the schedule never waits on steel.

    Submittal discipline

Nothing gets fabricated before the Engineer of Record approves the shop drawings. That is how a security perimeter passes inspection the first time.

    Confidentiality by default

Every vendor package we send out is sanitized: no owner name, no site address, no identifying details. Data center operators guard their footprint, and so do we.

    Where It Stands

From first drawings to a signed contract and mobilization in under four weeks. Installation runs through late 2026. This page will be updated as the perimeter goes vertical.
