Why would an RTO fail a stack test when the panel looks normal?

The most common causes are leaking valves or seals, degraded ceramic media, and temperature readings that do not match what is actually happening in the combustion chamber. A field diagnostic that checks instrumentation against real conditions usually finds the problem before the retest.

When should RTO ceramic media be replaced?

It depends on the process, fouling, and operating hours, so there is no fixed interval. Warning signs are rising pressure drop, falling thermal efficiency, and higher fuel use. An annual inspection tells you whether you are approaching replacement before it becomes an outage.

Most RTO problems show up as something else first: fuel use creeping up, a pressure drop that keeps climbing, a chamber temperature that looks fine on the panel while destruction efficiency slips. Flare and Vapor Combustor Service

A flare or combustor only protects your permit if the pilot lights every time and the flame stays stable. We rebuild pilot assemblies, repair ignition systems, replace tips and windshields, upgrade flame detection and burner management controls, and inspect knock-out drums and stack structure. When a compliance review or a combustion efficiency test is coming, we get the unit ready before the tester arrives.
