Gas Train Inspection and NFPA Compliance Upgrades

Your gas train is the safety backbone of every burner system in your plant, and it is usually the last thing anyone looks at until a line goes down. CR8 Environmental inspects, cleans, and upgrades industrial gas trains nationwide, and we scope the work per line so you can phase it around production instead of shutting everything down at once.

What We Inspect

  • Supply piping material and condition (galvanized pipe in gas service is one of the most common and most damaging problems we find)
  • Pressure regulators and upstream protection: gauges, strainers, sediment traps
  • Safety shut-off valves, including proof-of-closure capability
  • Low and high gas pressure switches
  • Overall NFPA compliance of the gas train configuration
  • Sediment, zinc flake, and debris accumulation inside piping and components

Common Problems We Find

  • Galvanized supply piping shedding zinc flake into safety shut-off valves and regulators, causing nuisance shutdowns and slow-motion component failure
  • Missing proof-of-closure shut-off valves and low gas pressure switches that current NFPA requirements call for
  • Regulators that drift or need constant rebuilds because of upstream debris
  • No strainer or gauge upstream of the regulator, so supply-side problems appear as unexplained burner trips

What an Upgrade Looks Like

A typical scope, priced per line so you see exactly what you are buying:

  • Clean gas piping from the supply regulator to the burner tee
  • Replace galvanized supply pipe with black steel
  • Install upstream pressure gauge and Y-strainer
  • Install NFPA-compliant safety shut-off valves (with and without proof of closure), low gas pressure switch, and upstream regulator
  • Our crew handles electrical disconnection and reconnection of replaced components, so you do not need a separate electrical contractor
  • Weekday scheduling around your production calendar
